To create this dataset, we sifted through 7 of Shakespeare’s plays and placed a directed edge between two words whenever one followed the other within a sentence. This dataset was analyzed with the Poisson multigraph model looking for ordered pairs of which occurred together a significant number of times. In the view below, every edge is significant but the red edges are the most significant. One thing I like about this result is that you can make full sentences just by following the arrows. In addition to words, we created another dataset by placing a directed edge between two letters each time one followed the other within a word. Again, red edges are the most significant.
